The Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls for ending the Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinian children

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has called on the international community to put an end to the Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinian children.

An Israeli military vehicle on Sunday ran over a Palestinian Child Jawad Abbasi, 15, in Silwan town to the south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, causing to him serious injuries.

In a statement on Monday, the ministry condemned the attack, saying that it amounts to the level of crimes against humanity.

The occupation’s attempt to kill the child Jawad Abbasi comes a few days after the occupation opened fire on a Palestinian girl called Janna Al-Kiswani, 16, inside her house in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Al-Quds, causing fractures in her spine, the ministry added.

The attack on Abbasi also comes after the occupation has killed more than 6 children in its 11-day aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip earlier this month, the ministry pointed out.

It affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s continuous crimes against Palestinian children constitute an open violation of the international humanitarian law as well as the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The ministry vowed to continue working with the International Criminal Court and the UN concerned organizations, mainly UNICEF, with the aim of implementing international legitimacy and stopping these crimes.

The ministry urged the international community, particularly the countries which claim that they are protecting human rights, to abandon their double standards policy in dealing with international issues and to hold the Israeli war criminals accountable for their crimes against the Palestinian people
