The General Company for Garments “Wasim” put its twelfth production unit in service in the village of Jenina Raslan in Tartous countryside.
In his statement to reporters, Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh stressed the importance of the unit, since the production units contribute to the revitalization of the local community by securing job opportunities for the people of the region.
The governor of Tartous, Abdul Halim Khalil, pointed out the importance of partnership between the local community and government agencies, thanking the local community who contributed to the establishment of this unit, which will secure more than 60 job opportunities for the families of martyrs and wounded people from the region.
The general manager of the company, Eng. YarubZureik, said that the unit is the second in the governorate of Tartous and includes about 32 different sewing machines.
He added that the unit’s production capacity is expected to range between 125 to 150 pieces per day.
The supervisor of the production unit, Maysa Muhammad, noted its important location, which extends over an area of 310 square meters, and contributes to reviving production in it as a rural area and securing real job opportunities for the people of the region.
Some of the workers in the unit expressed their appreciation for the government efforts and the local community in establishing this facility, which provided them with job opportunities in their areas of residence.
In addition, the Minister of Industry was briefed on the progress of work in the Al-Tabough complex located in the industrial zone, south of the city of Tartous, and on the Al-Muthanna factory for garments in the village of Broumana Al-Mashaikh in the Sheikh Badr region.
