The Omani Minister of Economy discusses with Ambassador Mia the arrangements for the joint government committee to convene

On March 23rd, the Omani Minister of Economy, Dr. Saeed bin Muhammad Al-Saqri, met with the Syrian Ambassador to Muscat, Dr. Idris Mia.

The two sides discussed preparations for holding the sixth session of the joint governmental committee between the two countries, and ways and prospects for improving bilateral economic cooperation.

Minister Al-Saqri stressed the solidity and strength of the Syrian-Omani relations and the importance of upgrading them in all fields, especially in the economic aspect.

Minister Al-Saqri pointed to the importance of holding the sixth session of the joint government committee, and the need to transform plans and agreements into executive work programs that serve the common interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

In his turn, Ambassador Mia expressed gratitude and thanks for Oman’s supportive stances towards Syria and for the assistance it provided to the people affected by the earthquake.

He said that the distinguished and well-established relations between the two brotherly countries are based on an ancient legacy and an honorable history.
