The Occupation forces demolishes 5 houses in Aryha (Jericho)

The Israeli occupation forces demolished five houses in Ariha (Jericho) city in the West Bank.

The Palestinian media reported that the occupation forces stormed with a number of bulldozers the Duyuk al-Tahta area, west of Aryha, and demolishing five houses and displacing the residents.

The occupation forces forced yesterday a Palestinian to demolish his house in Beit Safafa town, in the occupied city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

More than 4500 Palestinian freedom fighters begin to protest measures taken by the Israel Prison Services

On the other hand, in Ramallah, more than 4500 Palestinian freedom fighters incarcerated in Israel began today a series of measures to protest steps by the Israel Prison Services (IPS) that affect their daily life in the prisons, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

It said the prisoners started their steps by refusing to take part in the security check on Mondays and to return their meals on Wednesdays. After two weeks, they plan to observe a hunger strike.

The prisoners’ committee, which represents all the factions, has decided to embark on the protest steps after the IPS reneged on understandings reached with the prisoners in March and told freedom fighters serving life terms that it is going to start making life more difficult for them by constantly changing their rooms and sections, and transferring them between prisons.

The PPS said this measure is mainly what prompted the prisoners to resume their protest steps because it affects the stability of the prisoner, particularly since the long-term prisoners are the most influential ones and the organizers of life in the prisons.

There are currently 4500 Palestinian freedom fighters incarcerated in Israeli occupation jails, including 31 women, 175 minors, and 700 held in administrative detention.
