The Israeli occupation escalates settlement operations and scrambles to seize and judaize three new villages
The Israeli occupation has escalated the settlement and Judaization operations in the West Bank as part of the so-called “deal of the century” which is rejected by the Palestinians and internationally. This escalation is mainly manifested in seizing large areas of Palestinian lands that are besieged by settlements and settlement roads, with the aim of cutting off geographical contact between towns and villages and displacing thousands of Palestinians within the policy of ethnic cleansing practiced by the occupation and with the support of the American administration, and the silence of international community- thus encouraging the occupation to continue its practices and crimes.
The occupation continues to violate international law and expand settlement operations in the West Bank, especially in occupied Jerusalem, with the support of the American administration in the context of implementing its colonial plans to annex parts of the West Bank, the National Bureau for Land Defense and Settlement Resistance of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in its weekly report.
The office indicated that the occupation announced a plan to establish a thousand settlement units on the land of the villages of Al-Tur, Anata, Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis in occupied Jerusalem, which threatens to completely isolate East occupied Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank, as well as seizing large areas of land in the Jordan Valley, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron and Nablus to expand settlements and displace Palestinians from their lands.
The threat of Judaization and complete removal threatens the villages of Mughair, east of Ramallah, Al-Farisiyah in the Jordan Valley and Farasin in Jenin, as part of the comprehensive settlement and Judaization war waged by the occupation; whereas it announced the seizure of large areas of lands with the aim of annexing them in implementation of the ill-fated “deal of the century”, which the Palestinians assert that it is doomed to failure due to the steadfastness of the Palestinians in face of the colonialist schemes.
The daily seizure of lands in the villages of Al-Farisiyah, Farasin and Al-Mughair, expansion of settlements and building settlement roads, are practical application of the annexation plan, Head of the Segregation Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Walid Assaf, stated in a statement to the SANA reporter, pointing out that the occupation plans to completely displace the people of the ancient village of Farasin through the demolition of 36 houses in addition to agricultural facilities in it. He called on the international community to take urgent action to stop the ethnic cleansing and displacement carried out by the occupation against the Palestinians.
About what is happening in the village of Farasin, located southwest of the city of Jenin, the head of the village Municipality, Mahmoud Amarneh, says that Farasin is threatened with complete removal of the map by the occupation- Israel wants to repeat the scenario of Khan al-Ahmar, east of occupied Jerusalem, by seizing the village, which includes historical and archaeological buildings that bear witness to the history and civilization of the Palestinian people.
Amarna stressed that the occupation targets Farasin by building settlement because it is a link between the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm, so it has established a new settlement outpost on it, tippingoff that the occupation will displace dozens of families during the coming days after the demolition of their homes and facilities, stressing at the same time that the people of the village will stand up to all the occupation attempts to uproot them from their land.
The expert in the field of settlement, Aref Daraghmeh, indicated that the village of Al-Farisiyah, which is located in the Jordan Valley, is also subjected to a settlement war due to its important geographical location, as it connects the north of the Jordan Valley to the West Bank and is considered the gate of the Jordan Valley from the northern side, pointing out that the occupation established five settlements in Al-Farisiyah and seized 70 percent of village lands.
The matter in Al-Farisiyah is not different from the village of Mughair, which is located east of Ramallah, where the occupation seized most of its lands by constructing settlement roads and expanding settlements in preparation for the annexation process.
Head of the village Municipality, Amin Abu Alia, said that the occupation is planning to seize 40,000 dunums of the village’s lands and displace its residents, noting that settlers have established several outposts on Palestinian lands and are continuously destroying and sabotaging water wells and pipelines and preventing farmers from cultivating their land.
