The Israeli occupation escalates its aggression against Jenin in an attempt to break the steadfastness of its people
The Israeli occupation has been carrying daily incursions in Jenin and the West Bank and has imposed a siege on the city, its camp and its villages, where the attacks launched by the occupation forces have resulted in the martyrdom of 19 Palestinians during the past four months, and the injury and arrest of dozens, in addition to the demolition of homes and the displacement of their inhabitants in a desperate attempt to break the steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinian people who are winning the most wonderful championships in the face of the occupation.
The Palestinian presidency has warned of the danger of the occupation’s daily attacks on Jenin and its camp, calling on the international community to abandon formal statements of condemnation and to intervene immediately to stop them.
The official in charge of the settlement resistance file in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, said that the occupation announced its intention to escalate its aggression against Jenin camp in the coming days, as it sent huge military reinforcements to the vicinity of the city, which has become besieged from several sides by the occupation’s tanks and bulldozers. The Palesatinian official stressed that no matter how brutal the occupation is, Jenin will remain a stronghold of resistance.
In turn, human rights researcher Aref Daraghmeh explained that not a day passes in Jenin and its camp and villages without incursions and attacks by the occupation, which have caused the death of 19 Palestinians since the beginning of this year, the most recent of whom was the martyr Daoud al-Zubaidi, who rose to prominence last Sunday, pointing out that the occupation forces deliberately kill Palestinians in addition to bombing their homes thus to be demolished. The researcher warned of the danger of the escalation of the occupation’s crimes in the light of the Israeli military buildup in the vicinity of the city of Jenin.
Director of the Palestinian Prisoners Club Montaser Sammour indicated that the occupation had arrested more than 260 Palestinians from Jenin since the beginning of the year, 177 of whom were arrested during the Israeli daily incursions into hundreds of homes in the city since March.
The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Al-Barghouti, indicated that the occupation, with its continuous incursions and systematic crimes, wants to break the fortress of resistance represented by Jenin and its camp, which continues to withstand the Israeli attacks, but it will fail despite the occupation’s heinous crimes that amount to war crimes.
Al-Barghouthi warned against repeating the occupation’s aggression in 2002 when the Israelis invaded the West Bank, stressing that what is happening today is a gradual process of comprehensive aggression against Jenin and its camp, and calling on the international community to move quickly to prevent it.
