The Israeli occupation committed310 violations against Palestinian journalists last year

The Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks against Palestinian journalists over the past year in an attempt to obliterate their daily violations and crimes against the Palestinians, their land and their sanctities.

Wafa Agency stated in a report today that it had documented 310 violations of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian journalists during the past year, including the two martyred journalists, Sherine Abu AqelahGhfran and Rasneh, and dozens of injuries within the series of Israeli attacks against journalists

The agency indicated that the Israeli occupation forces, despite the fact that journalists enjoy special immunity under international humanitarian law, killed in cold blood on the 11th of May last year, the journalist Abu Aqelah, by shooting her directly, which led to her being hit by an explosive bullet in the head while she was covering a storming Jenin camp

The agency added that the journalist, Rasana, was assassinated on the first of last June at the entrance to Al-Arroub camp, north of Hebron, with live bullets, directly and without justification, as she was leaving the camp.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, the International Federation of Journalists and the International Center for Justice for the Palestinians recently filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court regarding the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation.
