The Israeli occupation carries out 414 violations against Palestinian journalists since the beginning of 2020

On November 29th, the Committee to Support Palestinian Journalists confirmed that the Israeli occupation’s continued violations of Palestinian journalists constitute a flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions related to media freedoms.

According to Ma’an News Agency, the Committee stated that the Israeli occupation has committed 414 violations against Palestinian journalists since the beginning of the year 2020.

These violations varied between direct targeting with bullets and poisonous bombs, beatings, arrests and prevention from covering the occupation crimes against the Palestinian people, closing media institutions and raiding journalists’ homes, destroying their equipment, and harassing them.

The Committee called for urgent action to release 25 journalists in the Israeli occupation prisons.

The Committee called on human rights and media organizations to quickly take the necessary measures and prepare a complete file on the Israeli violations to present it to the International Criminal Court to hold Israeli officials accountable for their crimes against Palestinian journalists.
