The number of victims of the Lebanese boat that sank off the coast of Tartus has risen to 99

Tartous, (ST) – The number of victims of the Lebanese boat that sank off the coast of Tartous governorate has risen to 99, after finding this morning a new body that was handed over to the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital.

The Director of the Syrian ports, Brigadier General Samer Kobarli, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of victims of the Lebanese boat has reached 99 people so far, after finding this morning a new body that was handed over to the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital.

In turn, the Director-General of the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous, Dr. Iskandar Ammar, said in a similar statement that all the survivors of the shipwreck have been discharged from the hospital after their health condition improved.

According to the survivors, the boat set off from the Minieh area in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, last Tuesday, with the intention of migrating to Cyprus, carrying people of several nationalities.
