The number of victims of the devastating earthquake, which struck Turkey last February, has risen to 47,975.
The Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Emergency and Disasters Management Authority, AFAD, as saying in a statement:” The devastating double earthquake killed 47,975 people including 6,278 foreigners and work is still underway to remove rubble, erect tents, and build prefabricated and permanent homes for those affected in the earthquake areas”.
On the sixth of last February, two earthquakes struck southern Turkey, the first measuring 7.7 degree and the second measuring 7.6 degree, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing thousands of people, in addition to causing massive damage to property.
