The number of victims of Japanese earthquake has risen to 161  and 103 missing

The death toll from the earthquake, which struck Ishikawa Prefecture and its surrounding areas in central Japan last Monday rose to 161 dead and 103 missing, according to local authorities.

A statement issued by  Ishikawa Prefecture , reported by Agence France-Presse, said that the earthquake, which measured 7.5 degrees, caused landslides and was followed by a tsunami, which also injured about 560 people.

The authorities are finding it difficult to deliver relief supplies due to the roads damaged by the earthquake.

A previous toll reported today that the number of victims of the earthquake reached 126 people.
