The national export plan ensures the fluidity and competitiveness of the Syrian product externally

Within the governmental direction to develop the export sector, the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade has prepared the National Plan for Export.

The Plan aims to improve and change the quality of the national product in line with the requirements for its access to foreign markets.

The Plan determines the role of each of the concerned authorities to prepare an integrated package of programs and procedures to ensure the smoothness and competitiveness of the Syrian product externally.

The Plan focuses on improving and changing the quality of production, taking into account the requirements of the export markets.

 

With regard to facilitating the access of Syrian products to foreign markets, the Plan emphasizes the importance of studying the needs of foreign markets for goods that can be produced in Syria and areas of competition, as well as the necessity of establishing commercial centers for Syrian products in the target countries.

The Plan strengthens the role of the modernized economic offices in the Syrian embassies, making use of the energies and relations available to the Syrian expatriates abroad, and seeking to establish specialized economic diaspora ties.

The Plan enhances the efficiency of services, simplify procedures, and secure the necessary logistical services to complete the export process, complete the railway connection with neighboring countries, especially Iraq. 

In order to support the quality of the national product and secure the requirements to enhance the culture of quality and work with it, the Plan aimes to reduce the costs of obtaining quality certificates and support the costs of conformity certificates in addition to establishing a database on the bodies working in quality control such as laboratories, sorting, packaging and packaging centers, research centers, and other services and certificates it grants.

With regard to export financing programs, the Plan focuses on securing the necessary banking facilities to complete the operational production cycle through the operating banks, securing the transfer of export values, and establishing an institution to guarantee exports.

Regarding reducing the burdens of the export process, the Plan indicates work to reconsider the fees imposed on exports and establish agricultural insurance companies to ensure the stability of agricultural production that is affected by climatic conditions.

It is noteworthy that the Cabinet approved the Plan and it will be put into actual implementation later, noting that part of it is being worked on, such as strengthening the marketing and promotional plans for exports.
