The National Earthquake Center: 16 weak tremors recorded during the past 24 hours

Damascus (ST): The National Earthquake Center announced that monitoring stations recorded during the past 24 hours 16 weak tremors, with a magnitude of less than 3.5 on the Richter scale.

The Center stated in a post on its official Facebook page that the tremors recorded yesterday evening until eight o’clock this morning: including 8 in the Iskenderun (Alexandretta) district and its coast, the largest of which was 2.3 degrees, and an earthquake northwest of Palmyra, 80 kilometers, with a magnitude of 2 degrees.

The Center added: There were 4 tremors that struck in the sea northwest of Latakia at 56 km, 30 km, 43 km, and 50 km, ranging between 1.3 and 1.8 degrees, and 3 tremors in the Turkish mainland, the largest of which was 3.4 degrees, indicating that the seismic situation continues with weak tremors.

According to a statistical report published by the Center yesterday on its official Facebook page, the number of earthquakes recorded by the monitoring stations from the 6th of last February until the beginning of the 9th of May was 9,194.
