“The Mosaic of Love” by young Syrian novelist wins first position in major Arab literary competition in Cairo
A novel called “The Mosaic of Love” for young Syrian novelist Abdul Rahman Al-Saleh ranked first in the annual competition of the Diwan Al-Arab for Publishing and Distribution held in Cairo.
In statement to SANA, Al-Saleh said that his novel which was published by Diwan Al-Arab for Publishing and Distribution in Cairo, tells the love story of a young man and a young woman who are university students and who are forced to break up because of social customs and traditions.
He clarified that his 100-page novel depicts the social circumstances which faced the two lovers and prevented their marriage.
Al-Saleh said that he participated in the competition of Diwan Al-Arab for Publishing and Distribution by sending his novel through e-mail 4 months ago, pointing out that the novel won the first position in the competition, and thus it was published at the expense of this publishing house.
Al-Saleh was born in 1992 in Qamishli city in Hasakah. He studied French language at Damascus University and he wrote several novels and poems.
