If the woman is under the age of forty, she will have an ultrasound scan if the doctor deems it necessary, the woman will be referred to the mammogram unit.
Screening mammograms help in the early detection of Breast Cancer. Women are advised to get screening mammograms done every year, after the age of 40. Especially if the women have a family history of Breast Cancer or other risk factors, then the women should get them even sooner.
It is reported that the number of women attending the National HospitalScreening mammograms has decreased due to the Corona pandemic but we encourage women to get early breast cancer screening and adhere to sterilization and social distancing.
