The Deputy of the Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib, discussed with the Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Office in Syria, Yasumasa Kimura, ways to enhance joint health cooperation.
During a meeting held at the Ministry of Health building, the two sides discussed the coordination mechanism to improve the quality of services provided to the Syrian people, work on reducing needs, and sign agreements related to securing vaccines.
Dr. Al-Khatib said that all available resources are being utilized to enhance the healthcare sector in coordination with international institutions and organizations operating in Syria, emphasizing the Ministry’s desire to continue cooperation with UNICEF.
For his part, Kimura highlighted the importance of providing the organization with a list of Syrian medical centers in need of renovation to assist in their rehabilitation and reactivation, alongside the with the continuation of the vaccine procurement agreement.
