The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Demands the UN Security Council and the United Nations to condemn the dealings of Western countries with outlaw groups

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates sent two identical letters to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations regarding the illegal infiltration of an American delegation headed by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State into northeastern Syria.

The Ministry said in the two messages that on March 22, 2022, an American delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ethan Goldrich and his companions infiltrated illegally into northeastern Syria. The Ministry added that this flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic violates the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, the principles of international law and Security Council resolutions related to Syria.

The Ministry added that the cheap claim that these visits aim to alleviate the suffering of the Syrians residing in those areas and mitigate the repercussions of the crisis is a disgrace to the plaintiff and an outright lie added to the hypocrisy approach promoted by the US administration, which steals Syrian oil and gas and imposes illegal unilateral coercive economic measures.

The Ministry said that Syria affirms its condemnation of these practices and its determination to extend the sovereignty of the state over all its lands and liberate it from all forms of occupation and its adherence to international legitimacy and international law and its right and duty to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens.

The Ministry concluded its two messages by saying that the Syrian Arab Republic calls on the international community and the United Nations to condemn the dealings of Western countries with outlaw groups whose practices are inconsistent with the human and civilized values that the West claims to adhere to, and considers that the countries of aggression must permanently stop practicing destructive and perverted policies that prolong the duration of the crisis and the suffering of the entire Syrian people.
