The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on international organizations to take all measures to provide aid to the displaced in Al-Hasakah

On January 24th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on representatives of international organizations operating in Syria, especially representatives of UN organizations, the representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross, representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Syrian Trust for Development, to an emergency meeting at the ministry’s headquarters

The meeting comes in regarding the dangerous and emergency situation in Hasakah as a result of the attack by the terrorist organization (ISIS) the separatist SDF militias and the American occupation forces.

The ministry said in a statement that that this attack in al-Hasakah caused casualties, including children, and caused great damage to the governorate’s infrastructure, and led to the displacement of thousands of Syrian families to state-controlled areas in search of safety and protection.

During the meeting, the Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates informed the representatives of these organizations, especially the United Nations organizations, of the need to take all measures to provide the required assistance to civilians and to address the repercussions of this emergency humanitarian catastrophe in light of the harsh weather conditions experienced by thousands of displaced Syrian families fleeing terrorism and the practices of the US occupation forces, SDF and ISIS.

It was also emphasized that the main factor that exacerbated the humanitarian needs there is the imposition of unilateral coercive measures on Syria and its people by Western countries, particularly the United States of America.
