The Minister of Oil reviews with his Iranian counterpart the mechanisms of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Dr. Eng. Firas Kaddour, discussed with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji and his accompanying delegation ways to activate the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries for cooperation in the field of oil,  and set timetables for its implementation.

Minister Kaddour emphasized that this memorandum represents a road map for the two countries, as representatives of both parties were named to follow up the implementation of the terms of the memorandum, underlining the importance of developing and strengthening prospects for cooperation in the fields of oil and mineral wealth.

For his part, Minister Oji expressed his country’s desire to raise the level of economic cooperation, especially in the various fields of oil, and to exchange experiences, which will reflect positively on this important sector in Syria and Iran.

During the meeting, the two ministers also discussed the mechanisms of activating the contracts signed with the Iranian side in the field of oil and gas exploration and production, enhancing cooperation in the refining sector, developing the current refineries in Syria, and securing petrochemical materials.
