The minister of culture visits the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab and the mausoleum of His Eminence Allama Mohsen Al-Amin

Marking evacuation Day, Minister of Culture Mohammed Saleh, accompanied by His Eminence Sheikh Adham Al-Khatib and a delegation of dignitaries from Sayyida Zeinab region, visited the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab, may God be pleased with her, and the mausoleum of His Eminence Allama Mohsen Al-Amin.

During his visit to the Tomb of Allama Mohsen Al-Amin, the minister recalled the visit of former Syrian president Shukri al-Quwatli and former Syrian prime minister Fares Al-Khoury to Allama Mohsen Al-Amin, following the declaration of independence of Syria .
The minister of culture praised His Eminence, the late Mohsen Al-Amin, as one of the national dignitaries who contributed to achieving the evacuation, and his role in supporting the Great Syrian revolution against French colonization led by Sultan Pasha al-Atrash .

Highlighting the role of His Eminence Allama Al-Amin, the minister of Culture said: ” the Syrians, after the death of Allama Al-Amin in 1952, refused to transfer his body to his hometown in Jabal Amil, and insisted on holding a huge funeral for him in the Umayyad Mosque, and burying his body in the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab due to his national positions, and his role in the establishment of schools for boys and girls in Damascus”.

For his part, Sheikh Adham Al-Khatib stressed that the celebration of Evacuation Day this year is a celebration of the unity of the Syrian people with all its components.
