The Minister of Culture visits the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi

On February 5th, Minister of CultureDr. Lubana Mushaweh discussed with the administration of Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi developing display methods in Syrian museums and organizing an exhibition of their archaeological pieces.

The meeting comes as part of the visit of the Minister of Culture to the United Arab Emirates, was attended by the director of the Museum, Manuel Rabaté, a number of his officials, the Syrian ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, and the minister plenipotentiary at the embassy, Rania Al-Rifai.

 

The meeting also discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding regulating cooperation relations between Syrian museums and the Louvre Museum and ways to exchange experiences.

On the other hand, Minister Mushawah discussed, during two separate meetings with a group of Syrian intellectuals residing in the UAE, how to activate the communication of our intellectuals with their mother country and the fields of work of researchers, critics and authors, and an explanation of how to cooperate between them and the Ministry of Culture by participating in the activities and exhibitions held by the Ministry.

The two meetings also touched upon how to present and market the Syrian cultural product regionally and globally using digital platforms and the use of virtual communication to bridge distances and benefit from the experiences of Syrians with expatriates.

The  meetings were attended by writers and intellectuals, Raed Al-Hajj, poet BahjaMasriIdlebi, theater critic Haitham Yahya Al-Khawaja, poet Akram Jamil Qanbis, linguist Aman Al-Din Hathat, critic Samer Rawhi Al-Faisal, researcher Fateh Saleh Zaghal and Abdul Rahman Al-Sabouni, actors Aref Al-Taweel and Bashar Ismail, novelists Iyad Mahfouz and Maryam Mohi Al-Din Al-Mulla and the media figure Amal And plastic artist Mohamed Diop and critic Mohamed Yasser Sharaf.
