The Minister of Culture discusses developing cultural relations with the Emirates Writers Union

Abu Dhabi (ST): The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, discussed with the Board of Directors of the UAE Writers Union ways to develop cooperation and cultural relations between the two sides.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers Union Sultan Al-Amimi and a number of members of the Council discussed the intellectual and literary relations between the two sides, their strategic plans for building thought, supporting the Arabic language, and possible cooperation mechanisms to support translation and publishing plans.

The two sides stressed the importance of the Arabic language as an important lever of thought in the age of technology.

 

The meeting was attended by Syrian Ambassador to the UAE Dr. Ghassan Abbas and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy, Rania Al-Rifai.

In a related context, the Minister of Culture honored the team of volunteers in the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and thanked them for the effort they made to make the Syrian participation a success and for their work to make the pavilion appear in a manner befitting Syria.

Mushawah distributed certificates of appreciation and awards to the workers and volunteers in the pavilion.
