The Middle East Council of Churches condemns the assassination of the journalist Abu Aqleh

Beirut (ST): The Middle East Council of Churches and Palestinian Institutions in Jerusalem and Palestine, and the Act Alliance, condemned the assassination of the Israeli occupation, Palestinian media figure Shireen Abu Aqleh, stressing that her martyrdom is a shock that reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state with Jerusalem as its capital.

 

In a statement, the Council and the Alliance said, “This incident has afflicted us in Palestine, Lebanon and the rest of the Middle East, as it has afflicted all supporters of the free speech in the whole world.”

The statement continued, “Sherine Abu Aqleh is not only a journalist but a voice of our pain and pain as we suffer from the effects of the Israeli occupation in Palestine.”
