The meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation: Palestine is the central cause of the Islamic nation
On May 24th, participants in the fourth extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Committee of Palestine of the Federation of Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation affirmed that the question of Palestine is the central issue of the Islamic nation.
The Committee stressed that resistance in all its forms is a legitimate right for the Palestinian people to obtain their inalienable rights, on top of which is the right to return and establish an independent Palestinian state with its capital Jerusalem.
The participants in the conclusion statement of the meeting held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, with the participation of Syria, condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.
the participants expressed their concern about the Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the forced displacement of hundreds of Palestinian families from their homes in occupied Jerusalem.
The participants affirmed that the continuous occupation’s attacks on Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, preventing worshipers from reaching the holy places to perform their religious rites, and the repeated Israeli incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque are a blatant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law.
The participants renewed their rejection and condemnation of the occupation settlement plans on the Palestinian territories.
The participants also called on the councils of the members to issue laws to support the Palestinian people in facing the attacks of the Zionist entity, to activate the Islamic boycott of the Israeli occupation, and to abide by all the decisions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in this regard.
