The meeting of the General Secretariat of the Arab National Conference kicks off in Damascus

Damascus – The meeting of the General Secretariat of the Arab National Conference kicked off on Wednesday at the Cham Hotel in Damascus under the slogan “Supporting Syria in the face of the siege, aggression and occupation”.

In his speech, the Secretary-General of the Conference, Hamdeen Sabahi affirmed that participants in the conference stand with Syria against aggression, occupation and siege, believing that Syria’s role and position is in the heart of the Arab nation.

He indicated that the terrorism that has been hitting Syria aimed at dividing it, breaking its will, and cancelling its Arab identity and national role.

Sabahi said that the conference, which brings together a group of Arab intellectuals, announces its complete adherence to standing with Syria, as it is fighting the battle of the Arab nation, not the battle of one country, and that its victory is the victory of the entire nation.

Sabahi added that the conference confirms its position in support of the independence of Syria and its unity as a land, people and state, pointing out that the conference is seeking to fulfill its duty in Syria and at the Arab level in rebuilding what was destroyed by terrorism.

Sabahi also said that the Arab National Conference, which is convening today in Damascus, sends a message of respect and admiration over the heroic steadfastness of Syria, its people, its army and its government in the confrontation of aggression until it won. He pointed out that Syria has been able to adhere to two fundamental positions in the interest of the Arab nation, the first of which is that it refused to enter the tunnel of normalization with the Zionist enemy, and the second is its political and practical stance as an incubator, supporter, and partner in the noblest Arab phenomenon which is the resistance, of which the conference considers itself a part.

Sabahi pointed out that the conference is working to turn its closing statement issued the day before yesterday at its 32nd session in Beirut into practical steps and a work program for moves across the Arab arena.
