Ambassador Haissam Bou Said, the Middle East Commissioner of the International Human Rights Commission, has stressed that the presence of the Turkish regime forces in Syria is an occupation and a flagrant violation of international law.
The Ambassador Bou Said reiterated that the United States and some Western countries are trying to prolong the crisis, especially by politicizing humanitarian issues.
“The presence of the Turkish army on Syrian territories is illegal because these are Syrian lands,” Ambassador Bou told Sputnik Agency, stressing that the Turkish regime headed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan has no right to impose its will or request because its presence in Syria is illegal.
“The terrorist organizations affiliated to Erdogan’s regime are using civilians in Idlib Governorate as human shields and preventing them from leaving through the safe corridors under different pretexts”, Bou Said added.
Bou Said referred to the false allegations and accusations by some parties on humanitarian issues since the beginning of the crisis in Syria.
Bou Said denied the allegations that hundreds of thousands of civilians were displaced from Idlib towards the borders with Turkey, confirming that the numbers that the Americans are trying to falsify in international forums are unveiled and that talking about a million people is inaccurate and far away from reality.
