“Martyrdom is a destiny not a decision. All the languages of the world are unable to express the honorable position ofthe martyr and the greatness of martyrdom. The martyrs are great men who blessed the land by sacrificing their holy blood to protect their homeland because it is the soul and the body of a great and strong unbreakable rock which is Syria” Mrs. Kafa Kanaan the mother of the martyr Majd Razzouq expressed in an interview with the Syriatimes e-newspaper.
A new literature narrating a legend immortalized by history declared the beginning of translating the martyrdom, heroism and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army personnel into written words .
In commemoration of the ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of Razzouq and his comrades-in-arms while carrying out their national duty in confronting the terrorist organizations in Aleppo , Mrs. Kanaan signed her book under the title “ A Day not like other Days” during a ceremony held at Dar Al-Assad for culture in Lattakia.
The 93-page book highlighted the details of her visit in 2021.A visit which she has dreaming of for seven years, to the place where her son was martyred .Her feelings were a mixture of suffering, sadness and pride when her dream came true on that day after the liberation of Aleppo .
“A day not like other days, and a dream not like other dreams . when I heard the martyrdom of Majd, my dream was to visit his grave in Aleppo and see Syria’s flag raised high in the same place of my son and his comrades’ martyrdom” Mrs. Kafa said.
She added on that day we visited many places in Aleppo, which terrorists and mercenaries destroyed and we participated in the voluntary “Sawa” ( together) campaign to remove the rubble left by terrorist acts in the old markets of Aleppo.
“After Syria was subjected to the devastation and destruction of human beings and stones, and the invasion of minds by ideas of terrorism that are contrary to our culture, we have become afraid for this generation and we are wary of how much effort we will make to rebuild it” Mrs. Kanaan stressed.
Since the first day of the terrorist war on Syria the martyr’s mother Mrs. Kanaan has been involved in voluntary work to support the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the displaced, the poor , widows, orphans and the disabled.
After the martyrdom of her son she sought to work with great activity and responsibility and participated in several conferences , educational, social and cultural events in several governorates to continue the martyrs’ national duty who watered their homeland’s land with their holy blood.
Mrs. Kanaan considered that the martyrs’ mothers, who brought up their children on the values of sacrifice and loyalty , lost their sons but won a homeland , stressing the homeland is the father, the children, the soul and the body. According to Mrs. Kanaan, it is important to document the history by the heroes, the wounded, and the families of the martyrs , so that future generations realize the extent of their sacrifices in the face of the fierce war.
It is noteworthy that Mrs. Kafa Kanaan, who has a previous edition entitled “Al- Majd and Kafa” was born in Lattakiain 1964, and a member of the Arab Journalists Union, and is active in the social and voluntary fields.
