The Losing Bet

Everyone is betting on a shift in the conflict concerning the Syrian geography between the Syrian army and the Lebanese resistance on the one hand and the armed terrorist groups on the other. Of course, the goal of any shift that may be happened in the field is definitely to impose the political conditions on the Syrian government when talking about any solution to the crisis in Syria.

However, the dynamics of the conflict has kept the situation of balance between the parties and therefore this has led to an escalation of terrorism and prolonging of the crisis. This also will increase the Syrians’ suffering and bloodshed and cause more destruction for the infrastructure in order to turn Syria into a country controlled by the militias and armed groups.

The foreign forces that targeted Syria had followed a strategy that depends on many steps. In the beginning they ignited the Syrian interior, then they have foiled any reforms made by the Syrian government through the media incitement in order to raise the public opinion.

On the other hand, the regional countries, headed by US as to internationalize the crisis in Syria, and not to mention Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, played a sinister role by forming an international alliance against the Syrian government.

Despite the internal and external pressures, the Syrian government had dealt wisely when it absorbed the internal situation in the beginning of the crisis in accordance with its legal and constitutional duties. While according to its foreign policy, the Syrian government has adopted the open doors policy to all the initiatives which had been launched to resolve the crisis.

These initiatives began with Dabi’s task and finished with that of de Mistura, the enemies of Syria think that the Syrian government will reject those initiatives, because they infringe on the Syrian sovereignty, but the Syrian diplomacy is smarter than traps that were erected against it. More of that, the external opposition, which is but a tool used by the foreign powers and which claimed that it represents the Syrian people, has failed because it doesn’t have popularity in  Syria.

Thus, the steadfastness of the Syrian people dropped all the bets, this steadfastness without any doubt was boosted by the victories of the Syrian army in the field. In fact, these victories had made the enemies of Syria look for outlets for their great failure in Syria.
