The Legal Response Team in the Syrian Trust for Development continues to provide its services in Yarmouk camp

Damascus (ST): The Syrian Trust for Development confirmed that its legal response team is continuing to provide legal services to the people within the Yarmouk camp in Damascus, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, to complete the two previous phases it has undertaken since the camp residents began returning to it.

The secretariat stated in a statement published on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook” today: that 360 families were enabled to return to their homes in Yarmouk camp by the end of 2021 through special committees, in addition to awareness sessions, consultations, legal interventions provided, and re-archiving of municipal documents by volunteers after it was damaged and lost due to the war.

According to the secretariat’s statement, legal response services in Yarmouk camp target those returning to the camp, who are 800 families residing in it, and who receive advice, including those related to personal status, which calls for judicial interventions such as cases of confirming marriage, lineage, death and loss of personal documents, in addition to real estate advice.

According to the statement, the lawyers of the response team also provide legal services to those who wish to return to Yarmouk camp and who need advice on how to obtain proof or transfer ownership, as all these efforts aim to encourage the largest number of families to return in line with the government’s endeavor to do so.
