The Lebanese army finds containers holding dangerous materials in the Beirut port

Beirut,(ST)-The Lebanese Army announced the discovery of 79 containers holding dangerous materials during the survey operations in Beirut Port area.

The Lebanese National News Agency quoted an army statement as saying that “during the period between August 14 and 22 this year, 25 containers were found, each containing hydric acid, and 54 other containers were found containing other materials whose leakage may pose a danger.” Pointing out that these materials have been treated chemically and no longer pose a threat.

 A large explosion occurred in the Beirut port on the fourth of this month, resulting in more than 170 victims and injuring more than 6 thousand others.
