The Lebanese army arrests two gunmen involved in shooting at a gas station

Beirut (ST): The Lebanese army arrested tonight two armed men in the locality of Kafaat in northern Lebanon, for their involvement in shooting at a gas station that set it on fire. The Lebanese Army Command stated in a statement that the gunmen were arrested in Mahalla for their involvement in a shooting, as they also targeted a gas station with machine guns, which led to its burning, and they tried to obtain gasoline by force of arms, pointing out that the detainees were wanted under arrest warrants.

 

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the international road in the area witnessed a suffocating traffic jam due to a protest during which the demonstrators tried to forcibly enter the Deir Ammar thermal plant for the production of electric power in Miniyeh.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of Beirut Municipality stated that a fire broke out tonight in the Electricité du Liban in Qasqas locality in the Lebanese capital.

The agency reported that the Beirut Fire Brigade worked to extinguish the fire and prevent its spread to neighboring areas, pointing out that the fire did not cause significant damage to the institution.
