The launching of the International Flower Fair in Tishreen Park in Damascus

Last night, the Ministry of Tourism and the Governorate of Damascus launched the 42nd International Flower Fair in Tishreen Park in Damascus.

The fair aims to introduce  various types of Syrian flowers and plants and promote them internally and externally to benefit from them in the field of industry.

In a statement to reporters, Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Rami Radwan Martini, said that the launching of the show coincided with the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Tourism and the fiftieth anniversary of the launch of the first flower show.

Minister Martini pointed out that the slogan of this year’s exhibition is caring for the environment and preserving it and focusing on the beauty of flowering plants that Syria is famous for, especially the Damascene rose.

In turn, the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatana, stated that the exhibition is an important opportunity for all producers of flowering and ornamental plants to present their products.

For his part, Governor of Damascus Engineer Adel Al-Olabi indicated that the governorate participates in transferring the services that the Directorate performs to  various squares in the streets and gardens of Damascus city.

Director of Damascus Tourism, Eng. Zuhair Erzurumli, noted the great cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the Governorate of Damascus in terms of services provided to visitors.

Erzurumli said that the show includes pavilions to display the products of rural women and the professional crafts that the Syrian governorates are famous for, in addition to the various nurseries, medicinal and aromatic plants, ornamental plants, honey apiaries, food industries and a food pavilion “Food Street”.

The Flower Showwill continue until July 9thin Tishreen Park in Damascus.
