“The Land of the Sun”… a historical play shown in the Wadi al-Dahab neighborhood in Homs

The Wadi al-Dahab Sports Hall in Homs hosted a 120-minute open-air theater show of the historical play “The Land of the Sun” with  large official and popular attendance.

The Iranian “Shehab Rahela,” director of the play,  stated to SANA, “This play, in which about 300 actors participated, is a message of peace and love from the land of the sun, Syria, the land of the prophets, where events took place since the time of the people’ father , Adam until the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him , and the confrontation of good to the forces of evil up to the modern history of Syria”.

 

“The play highlighted some luminous events in the history of Syria, such as the Battle of  Maysaloon and the October War of  Liberation , as well as the fight against terrorist organizations, especially ISIS, and the great Syrian victory while continuing the march of ” Hope with Work”, Rahela added.

Assistant Director Ali Al-Moussawi stated that the show, which is being shown for the first time in Homs, was shown in Damascus with some additions, scenes, and new events. He clarified that the preparation for the work in terms of lighting, theater, real field battle grounds, sound effects and others lasted about a month, so that the events of the play became closer to reality.  He pointed out that the actors conducted training on gestures and movements, while the sounds and facts were recorded with full sound effects in Iran, expressing his hope to present “the land of the sun ” in various Arab countries.

A number of Syrian young men and women who participated in the show expressed their happiness to participate in this great documentary theatrical work, stressing that this experience enriched their expertise in theatrical performance and gave them a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills.

Sheikh Ali Doum, the imam and preacher of the Zain al-Abeidin mosque in the Abbasid neighborhood of Homs, pointed out that “The Land of the Sun” brings the past, the present, and the future together. It highlights the heroism of our army and our people in their victory over the forces of evil to raise the banner of truth.

The show will continue until the 16th of the current month.
