Mr. Qutaiba Badawi, the chairman of the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, met with a delegation from the Chinese company AOJ-TECHNOLOGY, led by the company’s General Manager for the Middle East, Zhou Lijiang.
They discussed potential bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in Syria.
The meeting, held at the authority’s headquarters in Damascus, focused on the construction and development of seaports and railways. The idea of investing in the Syrian Free Zones was also proposed, due to its encouraging environment and favorable competitive advantages for foreign investors, particularly in the logistics and export sectors.
The Syrian delegation provided a detailed presentation on available investment opportunities, the advantages of the local market, and promising sectors that could be developed in partnership with international companies.
Badawi emphasized that this meeting paves the way for a series of upcoming discussions aimed at strengthening investment cooperation with the Chinese side, initially supporting infrastructure development and stimulating the national economy.
