The Kremlin: The continued terrorist presence in Idlib is dangerous and unacceptable

On September 26th, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the continued terrorist presence in the Idlib region and northwest Syria is “dangerous and unacceptable” and affects the progress of the political solution in the country.

In an interview with Russia 1 channel, Peskov indicated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss with President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Russia the situation in Idlib and northwest Syria.

Putin is scheduled to meet the head of the Turkish regime in the Russian city of Sochi on September 29.

Commenting on the statements of the US Congress regarding new sanctions against Russia, Peskov explained that “some members of Congress are carrying out their promises to the pressure groups in exchange for huge money, and others are trying to raise their shares with these lobbies and gain support in order to win the upcoming elections.”

Peskov noted that Russia will respond wisely if the United States imposes a list of new sanctions against it.

On the other hand, Peskov announced that the Russian company Gazprom is interested in concluding more contracts to supply gas to Europe and prove under any circumstances their reliability.

Therefore, the American demands to pump larger quantities of Russian gas through Ukraine are “just bad-quality propaganda.”
