The Kremlin: Russia continues to support Syria and President  Al-Assad

Moscow,(ST)- Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov today affirmed that Russia continues to support Syria and President Bashar Al-Assad in light of the current situation.

Novosti News Agency  reported that Peskov said at a press conference:” We, of course, continue to support President Bashar Al-Assad and continue our contacts at the appropriate levels, and we are analyzing the situation.” He noted that “a position will be formed on what is required to stabilize the situation.”

For his part, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said:” We currently have close contacts with a number of parties regarding the situation in Syria, noting the possibility of holding a tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey on Syria.”
