The Journalists’ Union condemns the decision of the France Press Agency to dismiss journalist Nasser Abu Bakr

Damascus (ST): The Union of Journalists condemned the decision of  France Press Agency to arbitrarily dismiss journalist Nasser Abu Bakr, head of the Palestinian Journalists’ Union, Vice-President of the General Union of Arab Journalists and member of the Executive Committee of the International Union of Journalists, for exposing the crimes of the Israeli occupation against civilians and journalists in occupied Palestine.

The Union said in a statement that this decision expresses the mentality of hegemony and blind obedience behind the policies of the Zionist entity, and it is a violation of human rights, media freedoms and the most basic rights of the journalist to work professionally and perform his media duty.

The Union called on the French Press Agency to reconsider its media strategy, free from any influence or politicization, as well as media organizations and regional and international press unions to condemn this measure as it violates media freedoms and human rights.
