“The Jasmine Stairs” is the sixth collective exhibition of Khatwa group  

About 9 artists from “Khatwa group”, participate in the sixth  collective art exhibition entitled (The Jasmine Stairs) which opened on Sunday at Louay Kayali Gallery, in Damascus.

The exhibition displays 24  works varied in their styles, artistic techniques and size by professional and talented artists . The works include diverse themes as heritage, women, love , beauty and nature..

The supervisor of the exhibition artist, Osama Diab, said to Syria Times: “The exhibition is the sixth of “Khatwa group”, which is held annually for a group of talented artists, “Khatwa group6”  exhibition includes a few number of participating artists displaying  various works reflecting their ideas  and inner thoughts including silent nature, heritage and traditions, the old  allays of Damascus, the desert, and others…

“The drawings belong to several schools, as expressionism and realism, the participants relate to different ages between 16- 65 years old” artist Osama said.

Artist Muhammad Khadour,  is participating for the fourth time in this event  with three paintings showing  the rural folklore and heritage in the Syrian coast, beside the old heritage of Damascus.

Muhammad sees that collective exhibition encourage him improve and develop his talents.

Artist Lujain Al- Melhem participated for the fourth time in  “Khatwa Exhibition” .He displays 4 paintings depicting Qasion mountain, Damascus city and the desert environment. Lujain wants from this participation to show her works to people and gain more experience.

On her part, artist Bariaa Jabr displayed 3 paintings using acrylic colors representing the heritage of Suwiyda city.

Her drawings depict the beauty of rural women in all her different ages which is a symbol of giving and tenderness. She aims from her participation to make people familiar with her works.

Artist Bassam al –Hajali said to Syria Times that “the exhibition shows the talents of artists so that they can be familiar with each other’s ideas and experience. so they can develop their drawings”.

In her role, artist Ruba Qarqut sees that every year of the “Khatwa group” exhibition we see new themes  and techniques of the participating artists’ works .
