The issue of Ukraine has almost disappeared from the UN Security Council, says Polyansky

New York, (ST) – Deputy Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky confirmed that the issue of Ukraine has almost disappeared from the UN Security Council and “has become boring for everyone.”

RT channel quoted Polyansky as saying in an interview that, there is a tendency, as at the beginning of any session in the UN Security Council on any subject, including Somalia, for example, to begin with someone mentioning the so-called the atrocities of the Russians in Ukraine and now this topic has almost disappeared from the sessions.”  He added that, if this topic is addressed; it is done within the context of food security because it has become boring for everyone.

Polyansky indicated that the Ukrainian authorities can no longer offer anything new. He considered the statement of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about his desire to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin only to continue the negotiation process as a “pure propaganda statement.”

“The negotiations at the summit level must be well prepared by agreeing on the agenda of both parties,” said PolyanskyHe added that the negotiations were frozen at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, while the Russian side is awaiting responses from the Ukrainians to the proposals that were drawn up some time ago.
