The Israeli occupation roofs the courtyard of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron

The Israeli occupation forces proceeded to cover the courtyard of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the West Bank in an attempt to Judaize it and change its features.
Today, WAFA news agency quoted the Director of Hebron Endowments, Ghassan Al-Rajabi, as saying: “The occupation took advantage of the aggression on Gaza and proceeded to close the courtyard area and its roof with tin panels, in an attempt to change the features of the Ibrahimi Mosque.”
Al-Rajabi added: “This dangerous attack constitutes a serious violation of the features of the mosque and a provocation of the feelings of Muslims, and an attack on the freedom of worship in it, and comes within a series of ongoing Israeli violations in the governorate, including the Old City and the Ibrahimi Mosque,”
Al-Rajabi noted that the occupation seeks, through its attack on the Ibrahimi Mosque, to change its features and violate the sanctity of the place.
Al-Rajabi called on international human rights institutions and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to take urgent action to halt these violations and to fulfill their responsibilities, considering that the Ibrahimi Mosque has been placed on the World Heritage List.
