The Iranian Cultural Week, organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Chancellery, opened on Wednesday in Khan Asaad Pasha in Damascus.
The events included holding cultural events about Iranian civilization and culture, cinematic shows, concerts, book and plastic art exhibitions, and introducing Iranian cuisine.
Participants Abnaa Najah and Ali Hashemi, who displayed children toys said to Syria Times: “We display children’s toys and products that are made in Iran for children from 0 to 6 years old,because the characters of children are formed in these years.
“We have 2500 shapes and different kind of toys made from plastic, wood; cloth and we use good quality colors that do not harm children“.
“In the exhibition, we display 200 kinds of children’s toys. We participate to showcase our products and display modern children’s toys industry techniques and we encourage the exchange of experiences and exchange of cultures between the two countries.“
Calligrapher Rida Safari participated in this cultural week displayed paintings of various kinds of Iranian calligraphy. Rida has been working as a calligrapher for 35 years
He participated in this event for the first time to show the history and the kinds of the Iranian beautiful calligraphy to the people. “There are ten types of Persian calligraphy, including kufic,patches, and other types for writing Islamic manuscripts” Rida said.
Another participant Nisreen showed handmade traditional jewelry, handbags, brushes, and dried fruits.
“We participate in the exhibition to strengthen Syrian-Iranian cultural relations and friendships, and to make Syrian people familiar with Iranian handmade products and cultures,” Nisreen said.
On her part, from the folklore clothes stand she displayed, folkloric costumes and handicrafts from several cities in Iran.” Iranian folklore differs from one city to another. Each city has its own handicrafts.We participate in this exhibition to introduce people of our culture and history,” She said.
