The International Federation of Journalists condemns the deliberate Israeli targeting of the media during its aggression on the Gaza Strip
The International Federation of Journalists strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of the media during its offensive on the Gaza Strip, calling on the UN Security Council to take urgent measures to stop this deliberate and systematic targeting of journalists in the Strip.
The call came after the occupation forces bombed, last Saturday, a building that is the third that houses the media in Gaza.
And the Union indicated that these attacks constitute a clear attempt to silence those who convey the truth about what is happening on the ground in the Gaza Strip.
Union General Secretary Anthony Bellanger said that “Israel”, through these practices, violates its international obligations, as UN Security Council Resolution 1738 specifically calls for the protection of journalists, and therefore this heinous targeting of the media must stop.
Czech party: the need to name who the aggressor is and who the victim is
In turn, the Central Committee of the Moravian Czech Communist Party affirmed that what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories is a direct result of “Israel” ignoring international laws, stressing the need to name who is the aggressor and who the victim is.
The committee indicated in a statement today that the attempt by “Israel” to forcibly deport the Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem aims to control all of Jerusalem.
The statement pointed out that the usurpation of the Palestinian lands, the deportation of its original inhabitants, the failure to solve the Palestinian refugee issue, and the miserable economic and social situation in the Gaza Strip represented the spark for this dangerous escalation.
