The Identity and Democracy Bloc at the European Parliament: Accepting the Turkish regime in the European Union would be a grave mistake

Prague (ST):  A petition launched by the Identity and Democracy bloc at the European Parliament affirmed that the Turkish regime has no place in the European Union and allowing it in it would be a big mistake because it practices aggression and lacks democracy.

Czech MP in the European Parliament, Dr. Ivan David, in a comment published on his Facebook website said that the regime of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan oppresses minorities, violates the foundations of freedom of expression, and poses a threat to the security and sovereignty of the member states of the Union such as Cyprus and Greece.

David added that Erdogan’s regime supports terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq, Nagorno Karabakh, Libya and elsewhere, and therefore the unacceptable provocations practiced by this regime must not be rewarded through the continuation of endless absurd negotiations about Turkey’s joining of the European Union.
