The Homs Agriculture Directorate builds fire trails in forested areas

On October 14, the Homs Agriculture Directorate started building a network of fire trails  in forested areas to enable firefighting trucks  to reach these areas easily to put out fires quickly .

Head of the Tal Kalakh Forests  Department Elias Bitar said that the plan includes building new fire trails  and rebuilding previous ones in areas that witnessed fires during the past days.

Bitar added that the goal of constructing these fire trails  is to enable firefighting vehicles to quickly reach the nearest point of the fire.

Bitar indicated that the total length of all fire trails are about 50 km in areas Qurib Ali, Bedar Rafi, Tareez, Zwaitina, Ayyun al-Wadi  and Juwaikhat.
