The Higher Judicial Committee for the Elections : Ballot boxes for People’s Assembly elections closed
Damascus, (ST)– The Higher Judicial Committee for the Elections announced that ballot boxes for the People’s Assembly elections closed at 11:00 pm in all polling stations across provinces after the voting period was extended for 4 hours.
Head of the Higher Judicial Committee for the Elections, Judge Samer Zumriq, said the polling stations’ committees will commence sorting the ballots immediately after the closure of boxes in the presence of candidates, their representatives, and the media.
Zumriq said that no violations or infringements have been registered during the elections.
He said that the polling stations’ committees will sort the ballots and send the results to the Higher Judicial Committee.
The Syrians participated in these elections to choose 250 members to represent them in the People’s Assembly from 1,656 candidates, including 200 women candidates, through 7,277 electoral centers in all governorates.
