The Health Ministry: National vaccination campaign targeting children under five years of age to kick off on Monday
The Health Ministry is to launch a national vaccination campaign next Monday targeting children under the age of five in all Syrian provinces.
According to Dr. Fadi Qissis, Director of the Ministry’s Preliminary Healthcare Department, the vaccination campaign, which will last until April 13, includes providing all the 11 vaccines listed in the National Vaccine Program. The campaign will coincide with the regional routine vaccination week which is organized by the World Health Organization in the Mediterranean area with the aim of enhancing routine vaccination.
On her part, Director of the National Vaccination Program, Dr. Razan Al-Tarabishi, said that more than 2,780 million children will benefit from this vaccination campaign which will be conducted in a thousand health center, 655 medical points and 568 mobile clinics.
The vaccination process aims at reducing the mortality rate among children under the age of five and at protecting them from infectious diseases.
