On March 24th, the German authorities announced the arrest of a terrorist who joined the terrorist organization (ISIS) in Syria, the moment she arrived at Berlin Airport.
“Stephanie A, who holds German citizenship, was arrested at Berlin airport on charges of being associated with the terrorist organization (ISIS) in Syria,” the Associated Press quoted the German public prosecutor as saying in a statement.
The statement said that she traveled to Syria in 2016 to join her husband who is in the ranks of the terrorist organization and joined (ISIS) after her arrival.
Prosecutors charged her with membership in a foreign terrorist organization and violating her duties of care and participation in a war crime.
German intelligence statistics indicate that hundreds have left their country to join terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq.
Germany, like other Western countries, is trying to ward off the threat of returned terrorists.
