The General Arab Conference: The Israeli attacks on Syria go hand in hand with illegal sanctions

On March 8th, the Follow-up Committee of the Arab General Conference affirmed that the ongoing Israeli attacks, especially the recent attack on Aleppo International Airport, are consistent with the illegal blockade against it.

During its meeting in Beirut, the committee said, in a statement: “The Zionist aggression on Aleppo airport came as confirmation of the association of the Zionist and colonial aggression with the illegal and inhuman American blockade on Syria.”

The Committee stressed the need for concerted international efforts to help the Syrian people confront the effects of the devastating earthquake, and to break the siege imposed on Syria by the US administration and its allies.

The Committee welcomed the initiative launched by the Arab and international popular campaign to break the siege on Syria to launch the ‘Arab Brotherhood Convoy’ from the west of the Arab world to the east towards Damascus and all the initiatives in this regard.

Regarding the Zionist incursions into the city of Jenin, the Committee said that these practices confirm the racist nature of the Zionist entity, and aim to escalate its aggression against the Palestinian people, which requires uniting efforts to resist it.

The Committee condemned the Zionist entity’s attempt to Judaize Jerusalem and its dealings with the Palestinian prisoners.

The Committee called for the implementation of the widest campaign of solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners and the need to put  pressure on the international community to halt the criminal attacks against them.
