The Free Patriotic Movement in Lebanon congratulates Dr. Bashar al-Assad’s victory in the presidential elections

Beirut (ST):  A delegation from the Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement sent congratulations on the success of the presidential elections in Syria and the victory of Dr. Bashar al-Assad during his visit to the Syrian Embassy in Beirut.

The delegation, headed by the Vice President of the Free Patriotic Movement, former Lebanese Minister Tariq Al-Khatib, expressed during his meeting with Ambassador Ali Abdel Karim Ali, the hope that this occasion would be a starting point for Syria’s exit from the crisis  and the continuation of efforts to completely eradicate the remnants of terrorism from some of its regions in order to spread security and safety and the return of all its displaced to their homes.

Al-Khatib also expressed  hope that Syria would return to its leading role in its surroundings and in the Arab world, as it was before the outbreak of the crisis in 2011, considering that this contributes to strengthening Arab national security as a whole.

 

In turn, Ambassador Ali reiterated the deepness of the historical and fraternal relationship between the Lebanese and Syrian peoples and respect for the sovereignty of the two countries, thanking the delegation for their attention in this regard, and wishing to activate the bilateral relations  for a common interest.
