The fourth Syrian-Russian meeting to follow up on the international conference on the return of refugees begins tomorrow

On June 13th, the fourth Syrian-Russian joint meeting will start tomorrow in Damascus to follow up on the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons. 

The 3-day meeting includes a joint session of the Syrian and Russian coordination ministerial bodies, in the presence of representatives of the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations, at the Umayyad Conference Palace in Damascus

The Syrian and Russian coordination ministerial bodies will discuss the signing of cooperation agreements in various fields. 

The meeting also includes joint meetings from the two sides in various governorates within the sectors of economy, trade, higher education, education, health, communications, justice, culture, local administration, environment, energy, agriculture, agrarian reform, transportation, industry, and the distribution of aid and textbooks in a number of governorates. 

The international conference on the return of Syrian refugees was held in November of the year 2020 and its final statement confirmed Syria’s readiness to return its citizens to the homeland and to continue efforts to provide them with decent living conditions

The conference also called on the international community to provide appropriate support to the refugees and increase its contribution and support to Syria through the implementation of projects related to reconstruction, provision of health and medical care, social services, and demining.
